Everyone is getting married...

I know eight couples who are getting married at some point in the near future. If I wear this same Rachel Roy New York metallic one-shoulder dress ($1295 at Bergdorf Goodman) to all eight weddings, it becomes quite affordable, don't you think?

Adios Carlos

I saw Interpol at the Williamsburg Hall of Music on Friday. It was a surprise gig to celebrate the launch of their fourth album, released last week. It was also the first gig they have played in New York since announcing in July that Carlos Dengler was leaving the band after they had finished recording their album. Big shoes to fill for the new guy but they played really well. At the end of 'NYC', singer Paul Banks said that they had written that song just a couple of streets away on N 4th St. Apparently Carlos is now composing classical music as well as DJing.

Chic lady No.2

Rose Byrne in Gucci at the Emmys. She looks gorgeous, and the dress is sexy without being too revealing. Some actresses opted for really short dresses at the Emmys but I think you should always wear a full-length dress to a ball or awards ceremony. I also like her hair being swept off her face, and the fact her skin is natural as opposed to Cajun shrimp orange.  Very old Hollywood glamour. 

NYC neighbours

I am currently living on East 5th Street in the East Village. I think Frank Booth from David Lynch's Blue Velvet is living next door because I can hear a crazed man repeatedly shouting, "I'm trying to sleep you fuckers!" and "I'll get you, you fuckers!" It's after 4pm in the afternoon, and I can't hear anyone else in the building making noise. This man has been waking me up at about 9am most mornings when he picks up his electric guitar to jam to the Rolling Stones or Led Zeppelin - at least I think it's Led Zeppelin, although I guess it could be Wolfmother. He gets really into it and I imagine he's downed  a few Pabst Blue Ribbons in his time. Our apartment is close to a police station and my flatmate said they often visit this man. He said he is contemplating complaining about the noise, "but I guess it's not illegal to shout abuse in your own apartment." And I used to think it was bad when I'd hear neighbours having sex in Sydney. Maybe my neighbour just needs a lady or man friend and then he wouldn't be so angry.

This cover makes me sick, and it's not just because I don't eat meat. When is the fashion industry going to wake up and realise Terry Richardson is nothing but a filthy perve who degrades women? Jezebel seem to be the only ones with the courage to call bullshit on his work. Anyone can shoot porn.  It is not cool, it is obvious - obviously wrong.
